Only in Canada, eh?

The history of Euchre as a popular card game is widely in dispute. Some believe it to be of European origin dating back to eighteenth century France, or perhaps Spain or Germany. Others claim it originated with the Pennsylvania Dutch in the 1800s, and spread through North America with the sailing ships of the US Navy.

At any rate, Euchre seems to be a more popular game in Canada than any other country, and with the launch of Circular Invitational Rotational Euchre in May 2002 it became a whole new game for Snowman Series enthusiasts!

CIRE is the only non-billiard event of the Snowman Series. It combines the thrill & intrigue of Series favorites like Mixed-Up Doubles 8-Ball, Swingin' Singles 9-Ball, and the SNOWvivor Skills Challenge, with the strategy & style of traditional 4-player Euchre.

The unique roster sets 24 individual players into a rotational line-up of divisional play, leading to an exciting round of inter-divisional bouts, and ultimately, to a final "best-of-the-best" match between the top 4 players overall.

JOIN US 6pm Thursday June 16 at Fox & Fiddle on the Danforth for a night of euchre like you've never seen before!
