Round Seven: The Semi-Finals Based on overall earnings throughout the evening, the remaining four players would be matched up for two sets of "Best-2-of-3" 8-Ball singles. Regardless of point totals, only the winner of each match would move into the title match. George Apap, who had held the lead spot on the tally board since early in Round One would square off against the fourth position, Jeff Ferguson. Apap would continue his dominance at the tables, and make short work of Ferguson, winning their match in two straight games. It would be a similar outcome in the match of Bobby Kyriazis and Giovanni Caicedo. As these two multiple previous title-holders faced off, it would be Kyriazis to bring his A-game, eliminating Caicedo from contention with a 2-0 win. Round Eight - The Final Match The game would switch modes once again, as Kyriazis and Apap would face each other in a "Race to 4" set of 9-ball singles, this time with the trophy and the title on the line. Once again, Apap would continue his reign, taking two of the first three games from Kyriazis with stunning early-match combo shots on the 9-ball. Kyriazis would hand him the other of the first three by scratching on his own attempt to pocket the 9. Not to be thwarted, Kyriazis takes game four from Apap, but the damage was already done. Sitting on the hill, Apap stepped in to clean the table in game five, earning the title by a 4-1 victory in the final. >> Our new Champion << George Apap earns his first ever Snowman Series title in more than 3 years of contention, and becomes the third Million Dollar Champion and Ultimate SNOWvivor. Along with bragging rights for the year, Apap received the tournament award, featuring a hand-painted Greecian urn. Congratulations George, on a well-urned victory! |
